Prevention Grant Announcment
for the project period 2008-2010
The
Utah Department of Health HIV Prevention Program funds
grants to non-profit community-based organizations, government
agencies and local health departments serving high-risk
populations for HIV infection in the State of Utah. The
grants will address high priority HIV prevention needs
among these Utah communities.
Below are Grant Announcement and anciliary forms
needed for successfull application. The project period
is January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010.
Applications must be received at the Utah Department
of Health by October 1, 2007 no later than 3:00 P.M.
MDT. Each grant will be funded on a year-to-year
cycle.

Utah Empowered to Prevent HIV
The
mission of the HIV Prevention Program is to provide Utahns with
the tools and knowledge to prevent HIV in a culturally sensitive,
non-judgmental and compassionate environment.
Statement
of Ethics
The HIV Prevention Program will:
1. Respect
the diversity of our clients, contractors, community and ourselves.
2. To provide compassionate prevention and educational services

and accountability.

HIV
Counseling and Testing Program
This
page includes a listing of all public HIV test sites in Utah,
information on OraQuick and Counseling and Testing Workshop Training
schedule.
All test sites are confidential and no client will be denied service
due to inability to pay fees.
Want to be an HIV Counselor? Counseling
and Testing Workshops are offered every other month.
HIV
Prevention Providers
There are a variety
of organizations around the state who provide HIV Prevention.
Each of these agencies have a different specialty and target
populations and each offers a variety of programming. Organizations
are listed by name, contact information and brief description
of programs. Please contact them for further information.
HIV
Prevention Community Planning Committee
Community planning involves finding ways to prevent
HIV infection in communities at risk. This is done through partnerships
between health departments, community agencies and other interested
individuals. The major goal of HIV prevention community planning
is to improve the effectiveness of HIV prevention programs.
Utah has one Community Planning Committee (CPC) for the state.
Anyone is welcome to apply to become a member of CPC. Nominations
are accepted in the fall of each year for the following calendar
year, with each term running for two years. Forms are available
to nominate yourself or someone else.

HIV Prevention Community.
