Get Involved! There are many ways to become involved in promoting
multicultural health. Become more aware of issues affecting minority
health and efforts to promote multicultural health by joining the
Multicultural Health Listserv. If you have
suggestions to improve the way the Utah Department of Health serves
ethnic and racial minorities, share your ideas.
Visit our event calendar to learn about ethnic
events and cultural competence trainings. If you would like to formally
direct government health program planning and spending decisions,
apply to become a Utah Department of Health advisory
committee or coalition member. People and organizations who work
with or care about the health status of Utah minorities may join the
Multicultural Health Network and collaborate
with government agencies, healthcare providers and community-based
organizations to eliminate health disparities in Utah. The Center
offers technical assistance to community-based organizations
working on multicultural health issues. The Utah Department of Health
and other agencies offer grant opportunities
for health projects focused on minority issues.

We rely on our community and government partners to share
grant opportunities, events, resources and news that we can advertise through
our website, newsletter and listserv. We also love to hear your ideas to
reduce health disparities in Utah.

frequently seek input from members of minority racial and ethnic communities
when planning their initiatives. If you would be interested in serving
on a committee that advises health programs on health needs, program
planning and funding decisions, send this interest form and your resume

The Center can assist Utah Department of Health
programs, local health department programs, and community-based organizations
with cultural competence trainings, seeking ethnic community members
for coalitions and advisory boards, and linguistic services. For more
