This LIVE webcast will take a closer look at current state-based efforts to improve access to care and outcomes for minority populations, including the work of states such as Massachusetts, Georgia and Ohio. The panelists will also touch on how these initiatives fit into a state’s larger health reform efforts, and the role of the federal government.
This will be an opened webcast discussion on the influence that immigration policies have on federal and state decisions about access to health care and coverage. The panel focuses on questions such as: How is the immigrant population defined in the U.S.? What are the health coverage and access to care challenges facing legal and undocumented immigrants? How have states, local governments and health providers differed in their approaches to addressing the health care needs of recent immigrants? What impact will these decisions have on racial/ethnic health disparities?
This LIVE webcast begins at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. A video link will be posted approximately 30 minutes in advance of the show. If you do not see one by that time, please refresh your Internet browser.
