The Bureau of Chemical and Environmental Services focuses on three program areas: environmental testing, bio-monitoring, and chemical preparedness. It tests for contaminants in drinking water, lakes and rivers, and other materials in coordination with its partners. The Environmental Biomonitoring and Chemical Preparedness Programs test people for exposure to chemical contaminants.
