Emergency Medical Services for Children

Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Emergency Health Information Sheet System

The EMSC program and its partners have developed an online service to enable parents/guardians of children with special health care needs to fill out information sheets about their children, in an effort to facilitate better emergency care by EMS responders and hospitals. Please use the link below to create or retrieve an emergency health information sheet for your child.

Utah EMSC Pediatric Off-line Protocol Guidelines

The Utah pediatric off-line protocol guidelines were developed in partnership by Primary Children’s Medical Center and Utah Department of Health Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program. EMS medical directors are strongly encouraged to adopt these off-line pediatric protocols for their EMS agency. All emergency department staff providing on-line medical direction to EMS providers are encouraged to become familiar with these protocols in order to provide quality on-line medical direction.

Utah EMSC has begun posting training on Utah Telehealth Network for all 43 protocols. CME is available for Utah EMS providers. We acknowledge Primary Children's Medical Center and Utah Telehealth Network for their support of this project. To watch or download the training videos, please visit Utah Telehealth Network.

Please direct any questions or concerns to the EMSC Program Manager, April Larsen (contact information at bottom of this page).
