Emergency Medical Services for Children

Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Emergency Health Information Sheet System

The EMSC program and its partners have developed an online service to enable parents/guardians of children with special health care needs to fill out information sheets about their children, in an effort to facilitate better emergency care by EMS responders and hospitals. Please use the link below to create or retrieve an emergency health information sheet for your child.

Utah EMSC Pediatric Off-line Protocol Guidelines

The Utah pediatric off-line protocol guidelines were developed in partnership by Primary Children’s Medical Center and Utah Department of Health Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program. EMS medical directors are strongly encouraged to adopt these off-line pediatric protocols for their EMS agency. All emergency department staff providing on-line medical direction to EMS providers are encouraged to become familiar with these protocols in order to provide quality on-line medical direction.

All Utah EMS providers, ED staff and Medical Control Physicians are invited to presentations of the Utah EMSC Pediatric Off-line Protocols by Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) and Primary Children’s Medical Center (PCMC). CME credit can be obtained for physicians, nurses and EMS providers. The protocol presentations will focus on prehospital care by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider. The protocols are to serve as a guideline for EMS and their medical direction. Presentations are at the PCMC auditorium each Thursday:
