Blue Green Algae

Blue-Green Algae are bacteria that grow in lakes, ponds, and other water sources. Like any bacteria, Blue-Green Algae reproduce best in combinations of warm temperatures, sunlight, and nutrient rich water sources. With these combinations, the bacteria can burst and reproduce rapidly, filling lakes, ponds and ditches with cloudy bluish-green growth. Blue-Green Algae can prove toxic if ingested in large amounts, and can kill pets and animals if contacted.
