Streptococcal Infections (Group A)

Group A streptococci are bacteria found in the throat and on the skin. Infection with the bacteria can result in strep throat. Occasionally the bacteria can be more severe and can begin to kill the skin (known as necrotizing fasciitis). It is spread by direct contact with an infected individual
