EPHT 101

This online course was created by the CDC in the summer of 2007. It consists of 12 modules with information on biomonitoring, EPHT data, indicators, epidemiology and more. This course is available to anyone and will provide 4 CE/CHES credits FREE. Participants of this course can log in and out and take the course on the timetable that is most convenient. To register for this course:

2. Log onto UTRAIN or create a free account

4. Proceed with registration instructions



Environmental


Public Health Assessment from the ATSDR. This three part online learning course was developed for public health professionals and trainees. It provides a detailed summary of the public health assessment process. The three parts include:

ASPH EnviroRisk-Web-based EnvrioRisk is a case-based, problem-solving program in environmental risk assessment and risk communication.

ATSDR Identifying Exposure Pathways- An online learning program provides information on the basic concepts used by ATSDR staff and agents of ATSDR in conducting public health assessments specifically how to identify pathways of exposure.

EPA Mold Web Course- An introduction to mold and mold remediation for environmental and public health professionals.

EPA Tap Into Prevention: Drinking Water Information for Health Care Providers DVD or VHS

Tox Town- An introduction to toxic chemicals and environmental health risks you might encounter in everyday life, in everyday places.

CDC/ATSDR Case Studies in Environmental Medicine- Series of 37 Case Studies in Environmental Medicine, self-study guides to increase the primary care provider's knowledge of hazardous substances in the environment and aid in the evaluation of potentially exposed patients.

CDC Emergency Preparedness and Response- BT and related video web casts (previous topics are archived), videos and training modules for public health/clinical, laboratory, specific agents and health topics.

NACCHO PACE EH Online Module - The PACE EH Online module is an self-paced online course designed to equip public health professionals with strategies for successfully utilizing the Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE EH) guidebook. The module teaches the PACE EH process and methodology task by task in a user friendly format. This online module also contains course enhancing video clips featuring experts in field discussing various aspects of PACE EH as well as thought provoking discussion questions.

 
Risk Communication


ATSDR Primer on Health Risk Communication Principles and Practices

CDC Emergency Risk Communication- The CDC's training curricula both brings the novice up to speed and helps the seasoned professional hone his/her other skills in Emergency Risk Communication.

The Environmental Public Health Tracking Network provides free risk communication trainings. These are about one hour long and can be given to any interested organization or group. If you are interested in a risk communication training contact Alison Cox.
