July 27, 2005 Meeting Highlights: Louisa Stark, Director of the Genetic Science Learning Center, presented Stem Cells in the Spotlight presentation (PowerPoint) to the department. The talk focused on what a stem cell is, current and future applications of stem cell research, legislation and ethical issues surrounding stem cells. A DVD version of the presentation is available. April 20, 2005 Meeting Highlights: Louisa Stark, Director of the Genetic Science Learning Center, presented "Pharmacogenomics: Drugs Designed for You" (PowerPoint) to the department. The talk focused on current and future applications of pharmacogenetics to medicine and public health.
