Most of us want only the best for our friends and family. A person’s willingness to recommend a plan to friends or family demonstrates a high regard for the quality of care offered by the plan. This question asked respondents whether they would recommend their health plan to a friend or family member who needed care.
According to a national survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR), if consumers had to choose between two health plans, a majority of American adults would select the plan strongly recommended by their friends and family members over the plan rated higher in a comparative, plan level consumer report.
The five Utah HMOs all received a strong consumer loyalty rating from the surveyed enrollees.
