IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

CHANGING CLAIM FORMATS:

As stated in the October 2003 Medicaid Information Bulletin (MIB), Medicaid is changing claim formats for ambulatory surgical centers, freestanding birthing centers, nursing homes, and home health agencies. Medicaid is modifying computer systems in order to implement state standards. Implementation dates have not been set. Watch for notification on this web site or through future MIB articles.

Rural Health Centers and Federally Qualified Health Centers will not be changing form types and will continue to use the ANSI X12 837 Professional implementation guide or CMS-1500 form.
