Utah Medicaid has maintained multiple local codes (Y Codes) for billing purposes. However, with the implementation of HIPAA a covered entity must use standard medical data code sets effective October 17, 2003. The Rule outlines standard code sets as HCPCS, ICD-9, NDC, ADA, and CPT-4. The following are unofficial documents containing Medicaid specific Y codes that have been cross walked to standard data code sets.
