The State Director of CHN provides leadership, management and direction for statewide public health nursing. The position serves as principle advisor to the Executive Director's Office, the Utah Department of Health and other senior managers on current and emerging public health nursing practice and issues. This position provides public health system leadership for key public health nursing initiatives, programs and services including direction in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of public health nursing. This position develops and enhances cross-sector relationships with the public, private and voluntary sectors and improves systems which protects and promotes the health of the public. This position provides training and technical assistance to state and local public health nurses, local health departments, community organizations, and colleges of nursing in public health nursing.
