In 1993, the "Every Child by Two" Immunization Coalition, in conjunction with the Utah Immunization Program and other sponsors, developed a mobile immunization clinic known as the Care-A-Van. This mobile clinic was designed to help increase access to immunization services and target areas identified with low immunization levels or limited immunization services. The Care-A-Van travels throughout the state every February through October. Immunizations are free for children ages 0-35 months of age and are only $5.00 per vaccine for children through 18 years of age who meet eligibility guidelines for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program. Click here for more information on the VFC Program. Care-A-Van has been a successful partnership over the years and has increased public awareness about the importance of immunizations. The following private, public and community organizations sponsor the Care-A-Van and have contributed to its success: Utah Department of Health Immunization Program, Community Nursing Service, Intermountain Health Care, KTVX-TV, and Sinclair Oil. Since 1993, 885 Care-A-Van clinics have been conducted. Results for the 2007 season revealed that 1,390 individuals where immunized and 2,853 doses of vaccine were administered. Care-A-Van clinics are added continually throughout the year. Please check this page often for newly listed locations.
