All clients – Contact Utah Public Health Laboratory prior to submitting specimens.
Monday – Thursday as required
Microagglutination per LRN Protocols
- Collect:Serum, at least 1 mL in a sterile container.
- Specimen Preparation:an acute phase specimen should be collected as soon as possible after onset of disease. A convalescent phase specimen should be collected >14 days after the acute specimen.
- Storage/Transport Conditions:refrigerate at 2 to 8°C
- Unacceptable Conditions:
Detected, Not Detected, or Inconclusive
No agglutinating antibodies against Brucella species detected. Agglutinating antibodies are inconclusive against Brucella species. Agglutinating antibodies against Brucella species detected. Serum titer
It is mandatory that UPHL be contacted prior to submitting samples for testing.
