All clients – Contact Utah Public Health Laboratory prior to submitting specimens.
Monday – Thursday as required
Hemagglutination per LRN Protocols
- Collect:Serum or plasma; at least 1 mL in a sterile container.
- Specimen Preparation: an acute phase specimen should be collected as soon as possible after onset of disease. A convalescent phase specimen should be collected >28 days after the acute specimen.
- Storage/Transport Conditions:refrigerate at 2 to 8°C
- Unacceptable Conditions:hemolyzed and/or lipemic specimens
Positive or Negative
Negative for antibodies to Yersinia pestis F1 antigen.
Positive for antibodies to Yersinia pestis F1 antigen.
It is mandatory that UPHL be contacted prior to submitting samples for testing.
