Specimen Required

  • Collect:Serum or plasma; at least 1 mL in a sterile container.
  • Specimen Preparation: an acute phase specimen should be collected as soon as possible after onset of disease. A convalescent phase specimen should be collected >28 days after the acute specimen.
  • Storage/Transport Conditions:refrigerate at 2 to 8°C
  • Unacceptable Conditions:hemolyzed and/or lipemic specimens
