Virology

The Virology Section accepts clinical specimens from licensed health care providers.  These may include clinics and physicians offices, local and state health departments,  epidemiologists, and the medical examiner. Virology section chief is Tom Sharpton.

• Toxin Assays coordinated with Bacteriology:
  • Botulism serotyping
  • Verotoxin producing serotypes of E. coli
