Adult Dental and Vision Restored

Dental

Traditional Medicaid Clients: Beginning July 1, 2005, dental benefits will be restored for Traditional Medicaid Clients (adults who receive a purple Medicaid card), back to the same coverage that existed prior to June 2002. The dental benefits will include:

• Exams
• X-rays
• Preventative Services
• Fillings
• Extractions
• Root Canals
• Dentures and Partial Dentures

Non-Traditional Clients: The dental benefit for Non-Traditional Clients (adults who receive a blue Medicaid card) will not be restored in July 2005. That dental benefit change will depend upon getting approval from the federal administrators who control the waiver program. It may take several months before you get this dental benefit

We will send a notice to all Non-Traditional Clients telling when you will be able to use this added benefit.

Vision

Traditional Medicaid Clients: Beginning July 1, 2005, the eyeglasses benefit will be restored to adult Traditional Medicaid Clients (adults who receive a purple Medicaid card). The benefit will include:

• Annual Eye Exam
• Eyeglasses: Frames and Lenses

Non Traditional Medicaid Clients: There is no change to the vision program for Non-Traditional Medicaid Clients (adults who receive a blue Medicaid card). Medicaid will continue to cover $30.00 towards:

• One Annual Eye Exam

Eyeglasses are not a benefit.

Note: Medical treatment for eye diseases continues to be a benefit for both Traditional and Non- Traditional clients.
