UTAH'S MEDICAID PROGRAMS

There are many types of Medicaid programs.  Does a child, pregnant woman or adult need help?

Child:  How old is the child?

• child from birth to age six - 'Newborn'
• child from six to eighteen - 'Newborn Plus'
• Children under the age of 18 not eligible due to income - 'Child'
• child in Foster Care; 
• child in Subsidized Adoption;
• special medical need (Waivers for developmentally disabled; mentally retarded; technology dependent; brain injury)

Adults: Which best describes the adult?

• Has Children under age 18 - 'Medicaid for a Family '
• Woman with Breast or Cervical Cancer
• Over age 60, Blind or Disabled see also Medicare Beneficiary
• Medically Needy (Spenddown) Program; en Español: Spenddown de Medicaid
• Lives in (or needs to be admitted to) a nursing home or long term care facility
• Has legal refugee status
• Not a legal resident of the United States (visitor, tourist, others who do not meet U.S. citizenship requirements) en Español: Servicios de Utah Medicaid de Emergencia
• special medical need (Waivers for developmentally disabled or mentally retarded; brain injury; technology dependant/ medically fragile children waiver; personal assistance ; age 65 and Older)
