How to Use the List of Utah Medicaid Official Publications

Quick start: Click on either Medicaid Information Bulletins or Medicaid Provider Manuals at the bottom of the page to open up the directory. Archived versions of the manuals will be available for the past two years. Archived versions of the MIBs will be available for the past ten years. For archived versions unlisted, send a request to medicaidops@utah.gov.

Click on the Parent Directory link to return to the previous page. It will also bring you back to the first page of the directory.

The search box near the top of the directory will locate a word or words found in multiple provider manuals and MIBs.

The manual or MIB won't open! . . . Most computers come with software for Adobe Acrobat Reader already installed. If your computer does not have this free software, it must be installed. It is easy to do yourself. Use the link at the bottom of the page to go to the Adobe web site. It has instructions on how to download and install Acrobat Reader.

I get a "404" error message. . . . Send an email saying exactly what manual, MIB, or attachment failed to open to medicaidops@utah.gov. This error should be fixed within two business days.

How is the Utah Medicaid Provider Manual organized? . . . Each manual has at least three parts: Section 1, General Information; Section 2, Provider specific information; and General Attachments. Manuals may have more than one type of provider specific information, and they may have a section for Non-Traditional Medicaid Program. For more information on any of these, please see Utah Medicaid Provider Manual, Table of Contents .

How do I find specific types of policy, like physician, dental, home health and so on? . . . The list of manuals is generally in alphabetical order by provider type. You can also use the search box near the top of the directory to locate a word or words found in multiple provider manuals.

What are Attachments? . . . . Many manuals have code lists and forms which are specific to a type of service. Click on provider manual to see if attachments are available. The General Attachments pertain to all providers and are available from the directory.

Who do I contact if I need more information or help? . . . Call Medicaid Information (toll-free 1-800-662-9651). If you want a printed copy of a manual or MIB, you can fax or mail a Publication Request Form. You can also send an email to Medicaid Operations at medicaidops@utah.gov.
