Utah Birth Defect Network

The Utah Birth Defect Network collects information about babies born with birth defects. The Network can provide information and referrals to specialists for families and physicians. Four of every one hundred babies are born with a major birth defect, some of which may require medical treatment. We do not yet know the cause of many birth defects, but for birth defects with known causes, most are genetic. Less than five percent of all birth defects are caused by drugs or chemicals.
