Being physically active is a key factor
Being physically active is a key factor in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. A healthy weight requires a balance between the calories you take in with food/drinks and the calories you burn with activity. Increasing your physical activity by even minutes a day can pay off with big results.
Even if weight isn't a concern, regular physical activity plays a major role in preventing many chronic diseases such as:
- heart disease
- certain kinds of cancer
- and many more.
It doesn't take much to see a big improvement in your health. People who do some kind of activity not only avoid many costly and painful diseases, but live longer, happier, and more productive lives than people who are less active.
Whether you are just starting to be more active, or you have been active for some time, there are recommendations on the amount, type, and intensity of your activities to get the best results.
