The Utah Public Health Improvement Initiative (UPHII) is part of a national initiative funded through CDC as part of the Prevention and Public Health Fund of the Affordable Care Act of 2010. The purpose of the UPHII is to increase capacity in Utah Department of Health (UDOH) and Utah's local health departments to routinely evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our organizational practices, partnerships, program use of resources, and optimize the impact of Utahs public health system in order to improve the public's health. The Utah Public Health Improvement Initiative is located in the Office of Public Health Assessment led by Kathryn Marti. Laverne Snow is the Utah Public Health Improvement Manager. Dr. Barry Nangle is the Principal Investigator for this grant program and Dr. Robert Rolfs, UDOH Deputy Director, is our program sponsor. UDOH actively partners with the Utah Association of Local Health Departments (UALHD) in the UPHII. Local public health improvement activities are led and coordinated by Anna Dillingham and sponsored by Kathy Froerer, Executive Director of UALHD. We value your ongoing efforts to search out and test better methods for improving the public's health and achieving the public health mission to foster and create conditions in which people can be healthy. If we can be of assistance, please feel free to request consultation or information about quality improvement and/or public health accreditation through our program. This website will provide a tool box of resources and documents to provide information and assist in quality improvement activities. Please feel free to offer suggestions and resources to help improve our website and our programs contributions. Utah Public Health Improvement Program Activities
