
Dr. Steven Steed, Dental Director, Utah Department of Healthstevensteed@utah.gov
Dr. Steed is the State Dental Director and Oral Health Program Manager with the Utah Department of Health. He received his dental degree in 1974 from Northwestern University and practiced in the U.S. Army for two years before returning with his family to Utah. Dr. Steed is Past-President of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors and has an appointment as Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah in the Department of Dental Education. In addition to being a member of the ADA and UDA, Dr. Steed is a member of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the International College of Dentists.
Michelle Martin, Oral Health Specialist, Utah Department of Healthmlmartin@utah.gov
Michelle Martin is the Oral Health Specialist for the State of Utah's Department of Health and worked for over 12 years in private practice as a dental hygienist. She has also worked as a Health Educator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and served on international humanitarian trips in the Marshall Islands, Vietnam, and Peru. She received a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Utah.
The Utah Oral Health Program promotes oral health education and prevention, increases community awareness of the oral health needs in the state, and improves access to oral health care services.
