Dr. Kim Michelson Is the State Dental Director for the Utah Department of Health. He is a member of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, and is a past president of the Salt Lake District Dental Society. He is also a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He graduated with honors from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry. He then attended graduate school at the University of Utah in Biomedical Engineering. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, NE, after which he completed a residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He then operated a private dental office in Sandy, Utah for many years prior to working for the state of Utah starting in 2009.
Michelle Martin is the Oral Health Specialist for the State of Utah's Department of Health and worked for over 12 years in private practice as a dental hygienist. She has also worked as a Health Educator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and served on international humanitarian trips in the Marshall Islands, Vietnam, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru. She received a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Utah. Michelle is a member of the ADHA and UDHA
Lauren Neufeld is the Oral Health Educator for the State of Utah's Department of Health. Lauren graduated with Summa Cum Laude from the Utah Collage of Dental Hygiene and has practiced dental hygiene over the past 4 years. She has spent much of this time in Public Health setting working in Medicaid offices and with disadvantaged families. She is a member of the ADHA and UDHA
The Utah Oral Health Program promotes oral health education and prevention, increases community awareness of the oral health needs in the state, and improves access to oral health care services.
