Utah Health Information Privacy and Security
Established in June 2006 by the Research Triangle Institute through a contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration (HISPC) originally comprised 34 states and territories. Phase 3 of the HISPC began April 2008 comprised of 42 states and territories, to address the privacy and security challenges presented by electronic health information exchange through multi-state collaboration. The Utah Digital Health Services Commission serves as the Utah HISPC steering committee and the project contracts partner organizations to ensure the range of local stakeholder solutions accurately reflect local preferences.
