Welcome to The Office of Primary Care and Rural Health
The Office of Primary Care and Rural Health is a health resource for Utah's rural, multicultural and underserved communities. The Office coordinates federal, state, and local efforts aimed at improving the health of Utah's rural, medically underserved, and multicultural residents.
The Office works with communities that need assistance conducting needs assessments, recruiting health care professionals, grant writing, identifying sources of funding and implementing other projects related to decreasing disparity and increasing access to primary health care.
As the lead state primary care organization, our mission is to elevate the quality of health care through assistance and coordination of health care interests, resources and activities which promote and increase quality health care for rural and underserved populations.
Serve our communities by providing and disseminating information, technical assistance, policy development, and resource coordination which will increase access to quality health care in Utah.
NHSC New Site Application Cycle is Open
The 2017 NHSC New Site Application Cycle is now open for eligible health care sites. The application cycle will close on June 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Interested sites are encouraged to read the 2017 NHSC Site Reference Guide for all program requirements, as well as the NHSC Sliding Fee Discount Program Information Package.
