Your primary care provider (PCP) keeps a complete history of your health care. This information is very valuable. All health care should be regulated through that doctor. If you need to see a specialist your PCP will give you a referral.
Having only one provider helps him or her to be familiar with you and any special problems you may have. It also reduces your exposure to additional medical tests that may not be necessary. Report all emergency and urgent care treatment to your PCP. Follow up care should be provided by your PCP as well. |
