When should I be screened for breast cancer?

Mammograms
Talk to your doctor to find out when you should start getting regular mammograms.

Breast Self Exams

Women should begin breast self exams around age 20.  They should be conducted monthly, preferably on the same day of the menstrual cycle each month.  Some women choose to conduct them the day after they stop menstruating for consistency.

Clinical Breast Exams
Clinical breast exams should begin around ages 20 or 30 and should be conducted  every three years.  Women ages 40 and older should receive a clinical breast exam each year.
