How is lung cancer diagnosed?

There are several ways lung cancer can be diagnosed. Doctors may take a picture of the lungs with an X-ray or CT scan. Other ways to diagnose lung cancer include taking a tissue sample known as a biopsy, or testing mucus that is coughed up for cancer cells.
