Does ovarian cancer have any symptoms?

Ovarian cancer does have symptoms, although they may be very subtle. These symptoms are often caused by other common things that are not life-threatening. It is important for women to listen to their bodies. If a woman notices a sudden change in how she feels and it lasts for more than a week or two, or gets worse, she needs to see her doctor. Symptoms can include:

  • Abdominal bloating, increased girth, or pressure
  • Abdominal or pelvic pain
  • Fatigue
  • Gastrointestinal problems (nausea, gas, constipation, diarrhea)
  • Urinary frequency/incontinence
  • Unexplained weight loss/gain
  • Shortness of breath
