Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) tests look for high levels of prostate-specific antigen in the blood. PSA levels can be high because of prostate cancer, but they can also be high for other reasons. Once in a while, a man with prostate cancer will have a low PSA level. PSA tests cannot be used alone to identify a possible prostate cancer.
