Can testicular cancer be prevented?

There are some known risk factors for testicular cancer. However these risk factors cannot be controlled. Many men with testicular cancer do not have any of these risk factors.

The risk factors doctors and scientists do know about are:

  • Family history of testicular cancer
  • Undescended testicle
  • Caucasian

While testicular cancer cannot be prevented, it is often detected early. Many testicular cancers form a lump. If a lump is present in a testicle, the male needs to be seen by a doctor.
