COLOSSAL COLON® EXHIBIT
For more information on the Colossal Colon- click here

When?
We hosted the Colossal Colon® April 1 through April 8, 2005

Where?
The future home of The Children’s Museum at the Gateway
Between 100 South & South Temple on Rio Grande Street

Why?
The Colossal Colon® is an incredibly life-like 40-foot long, 4-foot high replica of a human colon you can crawl through, or look through the viewing windows, to see healthy colon tissue, colon disease, polyps, and cancer. It is free. For children, there will be educational activities that relate to science and health curriculums. Polyp Man will be making a surprise visit. For adults, there will be health professionals to answer questions about colon health and colon cancer screenings, as well as other cancer related issues.

Who?
5,000 people came to see the Colossal Colon® while it was in Salt Lake City. 75 volunteers worked over 7 days. They listened good-naturedly to many jokes. They helped people address their fears of getting screened and heard numerous stories of being diagnosed.

The Colossal Colon® was proudly brought to Salt Lake City by:

Children's Museum of Utah
