Members of the Utah Cancer Action Network (UCAN) work hard to reduce the burden of cancer throughout the state. They work in all areas of cancer prevention and control--policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change; primary prevention and awareness; early detection and treatment; and survivorship and quality of life. They also work to educate healthcare professional regarding current prevention, screening, treatment, and quality of life guidelines, and they also monitor cancer trends. Comunidades Unidas received a $5,000 sub-award from the Utah Cancer Control Program to implement the Woman to Woman program in at least two worksites from July 2012 through June 2013. The Woman to Woman program is an evidence-based program featured on the National Cancer Institute’s Research-tested Intervention Programs website (http://rtips.cancer.gov/rtips) that provides breast and cervical cancer screening education in the worksite setting.
