It is considered 'out of the area' if you are in Utah where there are no medical providers who take your health plan. If you have an emergency while out of area or out of state, ask the medical provider to bill your health plan. Ask the pharmacy to contact the Utah Medicaid Information Line. Routine is not covered by your health plan when you are out of the area. Your health plan pays the bill as long as the provider is willing to bill them for urgent or emergency care. You may need to call your health plan to report all out of area or emergency care services. |
