What is a Health Program Representative (HPR)?

An HPR works with the Medicaid program, usually in the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) or rural Local Health Departments (LHD).
  • Your HPR has classes about Medicaid benefits.
  • During the class your HPR will talk to you about the health plans in your area.
  • The HPR will help you choose a health plan that will work best for you.
  • You may be able to change a health plan by contacting your HPR.
You can find a list of the HPRs and education orientations in the Resources section of your Medicaid Member Guide or locate an HPR by using the HPR link on this web site.
