Giardiasis is a water-borne stomach, intestine infection caused by a parasite. Eating or drinking from contaminated water can cause illness, even from water that looks clean. Giardia symptoms include diarrhea, gas, stomach cramps, bloating, weight loss and fatigue. It may take up to 1-4 weeks after drinking contaminated water before any symptoms are noticed.
