Stachybotrys is a fungus that grows on materials such as straw, grass, sawdust, wet drywall, ceiling tiles, and lumber. The fungus can produce toxic spores that can be inhaled in the air. People with exposure to the toxins generally have cold or flu-like symptoms with a sore throat, diarrhea, headaches, fatigue, dermatitis, and local hair loss.
