The Utah Department of Health's Health Data Committee (UDOH/HDC), staffed by the Office of Health Care Statistics, has produced many healthcare publications, data products and web systems to meet the needs of health care providers, purchasers, payers, public programs, policy-makers, consumers, patients and families in Utah since 1992. All funding for this site comes State general allocated budget for the Office of Health Care Statistics/HDC.
The HDC is committed to following the National Quality Forum guidelines for consumer-focused public reporting guidelines when developing reports for consumers in Utah.
During the 2005 Utah Legislature, Senate Bill (SB) 132 titled "Health Care Consumer's Report" was unanimously passed and signed into law. SB 132 requires the HDC to produce annual hospital comparison reports using measures for charges, quality and patient safety. To date, several reports have been produced and released to the general public.
MyHealthCare in Utah provides easy access to the hospital comparison reports and other helpful health care information for consumers. This web site was developed by the UDOH/HDC in partnership with the Utah Hospitals and Health Systems Association and the state's Quality Improvement Organization, HealthInsight. In early 2007, these organizations signed an important collaborative agreement promoting health care transparency for all Utahns. View the agreement in its entirety
