American Lung Association - fights lung disease in all its forms, with special emphasis on asthma, tobacco control and environmental health.  Research indicates that certain lung conditions can affect the heart too.

HealthInsight – is the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for both Utah and Nevada.  View easy-to-read rankings of Utah hospitals for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical infection prevention and customer satisfaction.

Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program - offers important stroke information such as risk factors, treatment and rehabilitation. Sponsored by the Utah Department of Health.

Medline Plus - promotes numerous links to trusted resources about heart disease and stroke including government agencies and health-related organizations. Sponsored by the Library of Medicine.

National Heart Lung and Blood Institute – informational web site designed as part of a campaign to increase awareness of the need to act fast when someone may be having a heart attack.

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke - features a wealth of consumer-friendly stroke material supporting one theme: know stroke, know the signs, and act in time.

National Stroke Association - focuses 100% of its efforts on stroke. The web site presents detailed information for patients, caregivers, health care providers and the general public about stroke prevention and stroke recovery.

Society of Thoracic Surgeons - patient friendly materials explaining various topics such as what to expect after heart surgery, what your surgical options are and what is coronary bypass surgery.
